Description
The natural spring water of Buxton starts as rain that fell over the Derbyshire hills 5,000 years ago, the waters seep deep down to a depth of nearly 1 mile into the earth. As it slowly filters through ancient stone, the water gathers rich minerals and heated by geothermal energy,. Finally after 5000 years it rises to the surface, emerging as a warm, mineral-rich spring at 27°C (80°F).
Revered since Roman times and dedicated to St. Anne by the 1520s, the water was protected by a 16th-century decree ensuring free access for locals. Today, this ancient spring water is bottled and shared as Buxton Mineral Water, a timeless gift from the earth.
